The first idea of "ventilating" the livewell came after years of frustration in our efforts in keeping bass alive during the summer hot weather tournaments. We hated not getting full credit for the fish we worked hard to bring to the scales at the tournament weigh in and receiving a dead fish penality. We also hated seeing the many fish floating around the weigh in site after the fishing tournament was over. In spite of our efforts, our tournament fish care techniques were unsuccessful. The "light-bulb" moment came when we noticed as we opened our livewell lid that there was always a big rush of heat and gases that escaped. It was very obvious to us that our boat livewell was holding trapped heat and harmful metabolic gases. After that we started experimenting in how to eliminate this build up of heat and gas. The results were very positive for us. Now, during tournaments we could keep our fish alive and at tournament weigh ins, our fish were alive and feisty, and it did not go unnoticed by tournament directors who publicly applauded the healthy fish we brought to the scales.
In 2004, we began serious research and development of the product V-T2 to improve current livewell technology. We were able to design the V-T2 to release the trapped heat and the metabolic gases from the livewell, but we pushed farther and developed the V-T2 to also improve the aeration and dissolved oxygen levels, and keep the livewell cooler.
We were determined that the V-T2 would be practical, affordable livewell accessory for all fishermen & boaters, no matter the age or style of their boat, or their fishing budget. Also, we developed the V-T2 so fishermen could rely on it to be working while they fished, and that it did not demand battery power or require ongoing maintenance.
The idea is simple but effective.When livewell & baitwell conditions remain close to the natural (lake) environment conditions, the less stress fish experience, and more healthier they will be. The V-T2 minimizes livewell stress and naturally increases fish survival.
